For those looking to make money on the Internet, one quick way to get started is with product reviews. You simply find some products that you’d like to review and make sure they have an affiliate program you can sign up for. Once you’ve been approved, you’re ready to get started.

There is a right way and lots of wrong ways to get started making money with product reviews. Although it’s not hard making money this way, you will have to follow a few hard and fast rules if you hope to earn money on the Internet with these reviews.

Having intimate knowledge about the product or service you’re reviewing is key to making money with reviews. If you hope to become successful with this technique, you need to either buy the product or write the creator and get your hands on it. Nothing turns a reader off faster than an obvious fake review. Don’t think you’re the one who can write a review without knowing anything about the product, because you can’t.

Now that you’ve had a chance to use the product a while, you’ll need to make out a list of benefits and features. Don’t confuse benefits with features! Benefits are what the user will gain by using the product. Like, more miles to the gallon, cleaner laundry, more money, etc. Features are simply good point of the product. For example, low cost, easy to use, detailed instructions, etc.

People make their buying decision on the benefits of a product or service. This is usually where they’ll develop a preconceived price point in their heads. It’s all based on the benefits they hope to receive and how much they’re willing to pay for it. This is why telling them what the benefits are is so important.

Make sure you include a negative point or two in your review. Every product will have at least one thing where it could be improved. Negative points add credibility to a product review. Everyone knows that nothing is perfect, that’s why a negative point or two can really make your review believable.

You’ll need a good outline before you get started writing. The success or failure of your review depends on how good your outline is. There are four major parts to a successful reviews, these are the Title, Headline, first paragraph and the last paragraph, also known as the conclusion or closer.

After you have the outline written, you can now start writing your first review. Remember to grab the readers attention with the Title, list the benefits in the headline, go into details in the body of your review and wrap it all up in the conclusion. This is how the most successful reviews are written.

Since it’s so important, I’ll relist the most important parts of your review. Your title should make them stop and read the headline. Your headline should list the benefits and convince them to read the body of the review. The body should outline the pro’s and con’s and make them read down to the conclusion. The conclusion should contain your call to action and make them click on your affiliate link to the product page.

Having a strong conclusion is as important as the title of your review. A call to action are words that make the reader want to click on your affiliate link to find out more information about the product or to order. If your call to action doesn’t work, then you’ve lost out on a potential commission.

A smart marketer will study copywriting and sales pages to increase their click through rates. These can pay off handsomely as you get better at writing reviews and your call to actions. It’s one thing to get the traffic, but if you can’t convert the traffic, all your hard work is for nothing and you can forget about making money on the Internet.
