Article marketing provides you with an opportunity to optimize your website for search engines, promote your website visibility, and keep your website strong in the face of competitors. Applying a traditional SWOT analysis to your article marketing strategy can sharpen your strategy to capitalize on opportunities that might have otherwise gone unrecognized. SWOT is the acronym for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and that has been used in business development, organizational development, and competitive marketing strategies for decades. This highly acclaimed strategic method for planning can be applied to your article marketing strategy.

Your article marketing strategy should analyze the strengths of your website, your knowledge and your content. Analyzing your strengths positions you to create content that capitalizes on your greatest strengths and can keep your articles central to your primary content. Your article marketing strategy should also analyze the strengths of your competitor’s website. By researching the articles on your competitor ’s websites and blogs, the articles submitted to article submission directories, and the topics the competitor typically writes articles on, you can plan to write your content to surpass your competitor and position yourself as the more knowledgeable author.

Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the websites that you are submitting your articles to is critical to your reputation. Your article marketing strategy should specifically plan to submit articles only to quality websites. If your competitor has a relationship with a link farm, not being everywhere your competitor is will protect your website. If your competitor has neglected to post pertinent information or has posted incorrect information, capitalize on that opportunity in your article marketing strategy.

Article marketing strategies should always look for opportunity. You should be where your competitor is, (unless they are linked with the wrong crowd), and where your competitor. You should also look for opportunities to submit articles with sought-after content. Top tens, recent news, sharp or contradicting opinions how-to has and reviews always offer opportunity to submit articles. Social book marking websites can be researched for popular topics and be made a regular part of your article marketing strategy.

Threats are an unavoidable aspect of an article marketing strategy. New competitors constantly enter the market, and ethical and unethical competition seeps through every link that is posted on the web. For more detail go to: www.lazyman-article-guide.com. Avoiding links that search engines disrespect, keeping up with your competitor’s article marketing strategy, and optimizing your website for search engines will add protection to your website ’s viability.

Article marketing requires strategic development to optimize its success. Applying the SWOT analysis to your article marketing strategy will serve to refine your article submissions for optimal search engine positioning and website protection. Take the time to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that are an intricate part of your article marketing strategy, and your marketing will surpass your competitors and reach search engine success.

Article marketing is without a doubt the most effective traffic generation strategy that ordinary people can use to promote their websites and make money. By ‘ordinary people’ I am referring to those for whom internet marketing is more than a just hobby, but who could not go so far as to refer to themselves as being ‘internet gurus’.

The ‘gurus’ frequently need do little more to make money than to promote each other’s products, since they have already done the hard work of building massive email lists, and optimized these to contain very reliable prospects that are more likely than not going to make a purchase – not every time, but occasionally as products that interest them are promoted.

For others, email lists consist primarily of interested people, but people that are not particularly interested in buying, but that might be persuaded to do so if you can get a good product in front of their eyes before the gurus do. Who would you rather buy from: some unknown peddling a product online, or a well known and highly respected internet marketer such as Joe Vitale or Brad Callen? No contest!

However, by writing articles on your niche, you can use article marketing to promote, not only your website and ultimately your products, but also yourself. If you know how to use article marketing to promote yourself, then you have a massive tool at your disposal that will do you more good online than any amount of promotion of your products could do.

Once your name starts to get known online in your niche, people will begin to respect you as someone that knows the business and the niche, and they will then be more liable to purchase from you. The way that you should go about this is remarkably easy.

Basically you write articles. However, make sure that your articles are written well, and if you are unable to achieve that then employ an article ghost writer to do it for you. Alternatively, and much more profitably, learn how to do it yourself. It is not difficult to learn how to write articles if you have a basic command of English. If English is not your first language then you might have a problem, although that too can be overcome with practice.

A good article consists of several sections, each one of which should be looked upon as a separate entity, and each optimized to the best of your ability, both with respect to search engine optimization and ’stickiness’ on behalf of the reader. What that means is that you want the reader to stay with it, and continue to read from one section to the next.

Although no section of an article can be regarded as more important than any other, there is the argument that each is more important than the next, because people will not read further once their attention or interest has been lost. Writing articles is an art, even without the content, vocabulary and grammar being considered. The structure of an article is a skill in itself, and if you can master the structural aspect of article writing, then the rest is so much easier.

If you are to use article marketing to promote yourself, it should be as both an author and somebody that projects themself as being an expert in his or her field or niche. To achieve that form of respect, you must consider each of the following aspects of your article writing:

The Title – The title should make the subject clear, and should also contain the primary keyword at the beginning. A keyword can be one word or a phrase, although it is best to be restricted to a maximum of three words. Hence, ‘article marketing tips’ is a good keyword, but ‘how to use article marketing tips’ is not. You can use the second example, but restrict the optimization to ‘article marketing tips’.

Also try to include a secondary keyword in the title, such as “Article Writing Tips: How to Profit from Article Marketing”. That is good, but you must also catch the readers eye, by offering them a benefit from reading your article, so a better title would be: Article Writing Tips: How to Make Money Writing Articles”.

See the difference? I am not suggesting these are brilliant examples, but the second title is better than the first, because it stresses the benefit of writing articles better than the first example.

The Opening Paragraph – If the reader is attracted by the title, you have to keep them reading by means of the opening paragraph. This should expand on the title, and offer them more benefits of writing articles, and perhaps explain how easy it is to make money or promote their website or products through article marketing. By reading on they will learn some secrets that will enable them to write articles that will make them money.

In doing this you are also promoting yourself, because you are demonstrating yourself as being an expert in your niche of article marketing. Incidentally, article writing and article marketing are different skills: many people can write articles, but don’t have a clue how to use them in internet marketing.

The other sections of your article include the article body, the concluding paragraph that should lead into the resource, and the resource itself, which is where you advertise yourself or your website and provide a link to it. Also important is the summary, which should persuade people to read the article itself.

It is important to understand how to use article marketing correctly, so that you promote yourself, not only your website or product, and take a step towards becoming well known sufficiently for others to seek you out and trust your products. One final tip: Use your name and product in your keyword list.

What are your three favorite marketing article websites?

Answer
www.dankennedy.com – Dan’s the “no BS” guy, his style is a bit gruff and he’s anti-establishment on a lot of marketing topics, but he has the results to back up everything he recommends. Much of his stuff is for sale, and I should disclose that I have spent thousands of dollars with him and been delighted every time. I can easily point to him as the single biggest reason my income has doubled since 3 years ago.

www.thegaryhalbertletter.com – be warned that Gary is a bit of an eccentric genius, and at times is just plain vulgar. But he’s generally regarded as the best ad copywriter alive today, and his entire newsletter archives are online for free. I believe he still holds the record for the top-selling direct mail sales letter of all time.

www.entrepreneur.com – good stuff, mostly “conventional wisdom” and somewhat “Basics” but it covers a wide range of topics.

Bonuses, just because I like your question:
www.wilsonweb.com – Dr. Ralph Wilson has a “for fee” article library that’s very cheap and well worth it for anybody doing internet marketing.

www.marketingsherpa.com – also internet-oriented, Anne Holland and her team do a great job of getting real-world case studies from big-name companies and sharing results and best practices. Sign up for her newsletter, the articles are free for the first few days after each issue, then they go to “paid” after that.

By the way, sign up for all of these folks email lists, it’s all high-quality stuff and except for Mr Halbert it’s never hard-sale.

Good luck,
Scott

There has been a lot written about niche affiliate marketing recently. As a business model I have had personal success earning a lot of money doing it.

However niche marketing is not the solution for everyone. Here is what you are going to need to do if you expect to make money online using this business model.

1. Not all niches are created equal. If you expect to make money targeting a niche you must pick one where people are spending money right now.

No matter how good of an Internet marketer you are creating a market on the internet is almost impossible to do. Plus why would you want to waste your time and money creating a market when there are literally thousands of them you can start making money in right now.

2. Choose your products carefully. Finding products to sell on the Internet today is very easy to do. However you must sell quality products if you want to make the most amount of money.

Selling a product you have personally purchased his one good strategy. Create reports about these products that a reader would find interesting and want to click through to your sales page. For this reason ownning the product really is a big advantage for you compared to other niche affiliate marketers.

3. Spend the majority of your time working on getting quality website traffic. This is still a big problem for most people trying to earn money online today.

Even if you discover a really good niche where people are purchasing things, and you come across great products to promote, if you do not advertise online correctly you will never sell anything.

The reason this is so hard is because most people never learn one specific way to advertise on the Internet. They tend to jump around trying different things and really never get any good at one of them.

For this reason focusing on how to promote your niche market product will be a big key to your success. This may take you several hundred or even thousands of hours to become an expert at.

Pay per click advertising is the fastest way to get traffic to your site. However you can lose a lot of money if you do not know what you are doing so you must learn before you try this method.

Marketing with articles is a great way to develop traffic on a long term basis. When you combine this with blog marketing you have a great 1-2 combination for promoting your niche products online. However again this is not something you can learn in one day.

In summary niche affiliate marketing is not the complete answer if you do not find markets where people are spending their money. Then advertise quality products by focusing on one specific promotion method. If you do this you will earn money online!
